Taiwan: A Traveller's Honest Guide

Every travel guide to Taiwan tells you to visit Jiufen, do a Sun Moon Lake day trip, and eat a soup dumpling. That's fine. This guide goes further.

This isn't written by a travel journalist or influencer who spent two weeks there. It's written by people who have spent years living and working across Taiwan - off the tourist trail, often as the only foreigner - who have made lifelong local friends, learned the language, hiked the mountains, and discovered what the country actually looks and feels like when you get past the surface.

    Who am I?

Hi! I'm Jamie. I moved to Taiwan from the UK to protect & research their moon bears, leopard cats & other amazing wildlife.

I struggled when I was moving to Taiwan. A lot. From lifestyle questions like where to get good food or how the markets worked, to nice places to travel and how to get there. There was little information to help.

Yeah, I tried Lonely Planet. There was barely anything for the entire county I lived in. I felt scared. I was walking into a black box.

What I found in Taiwan changed my life. Together with my friends, we'll show you the best the country has to offer - including the many hidden gems that only locals know. Let us show you the real Taiwan!
